EXPANSION AND RESTRUCTURING PLANS ANNOUNCED FOR 2013

The Southern Electric Premier League annual meeting on 24 November 2011 unanimously agreed to restructure Division 3 in 2013 and introduce two new clubs into the competition at that time.
They are to introduce greater competition into the pyramid by restructuring the current Division 3 containing 18 teams into two Divisions of 10, and for each team to play on a home and away basis in a 50-over format.
Four Divisions containing 40 teams would thereby be formed.
At the end of the 2012 season only and following the application of Administrative Rule 2.2, the two relegated teams from SPL2 (or either of the top two in SPL3 who fail to meet criteria for promotion to SPL2) will be placed into a newly restructured Division 3 containing 10 teams.
This division will retain the remaining eight highest placed teams behind those eligible for promotion to Division 2.
The teams that finish the 2012 season behind those mentioned above will form the nucleus of the New division, save for those who may be subject to Administrative Rule 2.3 : Promotion & Relegation to the Hampshire Cricket League.
In 2013, the Divisions will be renamed, as follows -
Division 1: ECB Southern Electric Premier League
Division 2: SEPL Division 1
Division 3: SEPL Division 2
Division 4: SEPL Division 4
