Following the cancellation last Saturday of the Division 3 Championship decider between Portsmouth and Hambledon, the SEPCL have announced that they are to carry out an investigation into the circumstances which surround the only cancellation within the SEPCL.

League Chairman Paul Thompson stated that, "We have a duty of care to all member Clubs of the League and to cricket in general, to conduct this investigation as thoroughly and as quickly as possible. We are currently gathering the information necessary to perform this task and we will make no interim announcement until the investigation is completed and the parties directly involved have been notified of our findings."
