Chris Allen

Chris Allen, who helped both Deanery and Lymington win Southern League championships in the 1970s and 1980s, has died after a long and courageous battle against bowel cancer, aged  68.
A prominent orthodox left-arm slow bowler with unerring accuracy, he took over 350 Southern League wickets, winning several SL titles with the two clubs.  He went on to become the eighth all-time highest wicket taker in the SL and played Minor Counties Championship cricket regularly for Dorset, taking 233 wickets and snapping up 40 catches.  The Funeral is to be held at the Southampton Crematorium on Wednesday 7th November at 11.45am
