PREMIER PAIR LEAD DORSET TO MINOR COUNTIES TRIUMPH

Lymington all-rounder Glyn Treagus and Bournemouth’s Ed Denham played key roles as Dorset lifted the Minor Counties Championship for the first time in a decade with a 135-run victory over Lincolnshire at Dean Park.
Treagus top scored with an unbeaten 80 and shared a handy partnership with Havant’s Chris Morgan (49) as Dorset posted a first innings score of 245. Lincolnshire grabbed a slender nine-run first innings lead and had Dorset on the ropes at 159-7 (Nick Park 33) before Bournemouth pair Denham and Matt Metcalfe (36) produced a stubborn 82-run eighth-wicket stand. Denham went on to make a personal best 71 not out, including a six and 11 fours, off 76 balls.  Set 254 to win, Lincolnshire collapsed to 118 all out. Somerset spinner Jack Leach took six wickets, with Treagus (two) and the hero Denham (one).
