SOMERSET CALL FOR FORMER BASHLEY RYDAL BATSMAN

Former Bashley (Rydal) cricketer Chris Jones is set to make his Somerset debut as a first day substitute for Craig Kieswetter in the LV=County Championship match with Lancashire at Taunton.  The 19-year old former Poole Grammar School batsman, who played for three seasons for Bashley prior to joining the West Country county, will be the nominated replacement for Kieswetter, who will return to Taunton after playing in the second t20 international between England and Pakistan in Cardiff.  Jones will be able to bat if necessary in Somerset's first innings or field if they bowl first, withdrawing from the Lancashire game at the end of the first day's play. Director of Cricket Brian Rose said: "Chris deserves his chance, although what role he plays will be determined by the toss. He's had a very steady season in the second team, improving as the summer has gone along and made a century against Essex recently."  Jones was leading Somerset IIs run scorer last season.
