PORTSMOUTH GRAMMAR IN LAST BALL CUP DRAMA

A leg bye off the last ball of the match sent Portsmouth Grammar School to a dramatic one-wicket defeat by Bedford in yesterday's Under-17 Cup semi-final. Hampshire Academy starlets Robert Gibson (68) and Jake George (67) underpinned the PGS total of 182-6 in 40 overs. Gibson, Cameron Prentice and Chris Stone all took two wickets but Bedford, after a nervy last five overs, eventually scrambled home with a leg bye off the very last ball.
