PLAYER DISCIPLINE - STATEMENT BY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The ECB Southern Electric Premier League Management Committee is aware of a seeming undercurrent of disciplinary and behaviour issues going on throughout all three divisions since the beginning of the 2009 season. The General Secretary has written to all clubs requesting that they remind their players - especially team captains - of their responsibility under the ‘Spirit Of Cricket’. Players are warned that they will be subject to either a formal warning or full disciplinary report, should they be adjudged by the umpires to be in breach of the ECB Code of Conduct and/or Spirit Of Cricket, details of which can be found on pages 160-162 of the 2009 Premier League Yearbook. We all have a responsibility to ensure that our cricket is conducted without issue and to ensure that enjoyment can be maintained for all. Clubs and players are thanked in anticipation in ensuring this message is cascaded. Clubs have been requested to display the General Secretary's letter on their club notice board – to act as a reminder to players and indeed is reflective of how serious the Premier League Management Comittee take the issues being presented to them so far this season.
