HAMPSHIRE HERO FACES CLUB OR COUNTY TWENTY20 SELECTION DILEMMA

Club or county ? It's no easy choice for sprightly Hampshire Vets hero Barry Goodman, who has to chose whether to play for Hook & Newnham Basics in Sunday's Southern Electric Cup Twenty20 tie against Andover or represent the county's senior cricketing citizens in the ECB 50-plus County Championship against Wiltshire at Trowbridge.

Goodman, who originally cut his teeth in local cricket with Oliham & Greywell, put himself in a dilemma by scoring an unbeaten (and boundary strewn) 69 in Hampshire's seven-wicket win over Cornwall (192-5) at Paultons.   Now he has an agonising 48 hours to decide what to do ....

"I'm going to let someone down, that's for sure," admitted Goodman, whose versatility shone through on the boundary.  Goodman plans to consult his Hook mentor Keith Lovelock about his club or county dilemma.
