![]() 365 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE BEHIND HURSLEY PARK AWARD
There's no shortage of experience when it comes to cementing the name of Hursley Park as the Southern Electric Premier League's top ground. Twelve regular "staff" at The Quarters boast a staggering 365 years service to the club, all voluntary ! Head curator Chris Westbrook, who has collected the George Winkles Memorial Trophy on five separate occasions in the past ten years, has been at the club for half a century : 52 years, in fact, but only three years more than Pete Bunney (49) and five more than Trevor Paice (47).
"These guys are there every weekend throughout the winter - and obviously in the season as well - come rain or shine and do a fantastic job," praised Chris Westbrook.
"There is an enormous amount of work to do with two square to maintain, in addition to the surrounds, but this is their hobby and they take great pride in seeing the fruits of their labours rewarded.
The years of service to the club are: Chris Westbrook (52 years), Peter Bunney (49), Trevor Paice (47), Andy Crossley (37), Gary Smith (33), Bryn Loveridge (31), Dave Savage (30), Dave Hutchins (27), John Eames (25), Jim Thow (18), Phillip Moore (10), Malcolm Paice (6).
